Adsense Placement is the Key to Success Online

Author: Ron Cripps

Why have you built your web site is it to create a passive or multiple income stream some of us even pursue this as a career and one of the biggest mistakes take I have seen from webmasters is to join the Google Adsense plan and place the script code on every page of their web sites.

Don't get me wrong Google Adsense is good but in the right place it is even better.

Now you have to stop and think as to why you have built a website in the first place, are you selling a product of your own or are you marketing affiliate programs!

The idea is to think about what you want your site to do and generally it is not to send your visitors elsewhere.

MARKETING A Product of Your Own

If this is the case you are selling a product on your web sites why have you created an adsense campaign to send your hard earned visitors to someone else's web site at a profit to you of maybe 0.01 cents.

This is probably the most common mistake made, and really is the easiest to correct.

Things to consider

  • What is the sale of your product worth to you?
  • What do your affiliates pay you for a sale on their site (usually more than the cents you are currently getting)
  • Are you happy with sending visitors away from you site for a profit of 0.01 cent.( some affilate programs offer you per click at 0.05 cents)

However, having said all of this there is a place for Google adsense but it is not on your product page of your website.

    Blog?

Have you considered creating your own blog board and starting a marketing campaign from there. Firstly your blog board will be listed into the search engines much faster than your web site. You can market specific keywords with your blog while advertising your affiliates and building back links to your site.

This is all good for your site rankings and it does not hurt your product page.

    Affiliate Programs

If you are just marketing affiliate programs and are looking for turnover only, then Google Adsense is a good way to do this. However some research is required to discover what the best paying adsense campaigns are, again it is a lot of work for 0.01 cent a click. There are some good paying adsense campaigns you can use. In saying this you need to optimize each of your pages to target these specific keywords.

Try to keep your Adsense code just below the header of your Page and stay with the colors of your website so the banner becomes part of your site and does not look out of place.

These are just some of the things that I have experimented with and are currently using on the web sites that I market. Hopefully this little bit of insight helps you to understand intermarketing and the use of google adsense a little better.
