Acting Should be Accessible to Anyone Who has Drive and Ambition

Author: John Gibb

Acting schools are the perfect forum to enhance and embrace people who have what it takes to become an actor/actress. Many acting schools have differing programs that allows the student both choice and flexibility when choosing the class to suit their requirements..

Most acting schools run a one year program as standard. The hours tend to be 30 hours per week 5 days per week, with additional time allotted to evenings and weekends so that the student can learn their lines and/or rehearse for an action shoot.

A typical starter program at an acting school will focus on building a foundation for acting using training techniques found in the Theatre and using them for screen acting.

The classes will introduce the student to finding out what kind of actor/actress they really are and what they feel they have within themselves and then nurturing that talent. At the same time the students will focus on their emotional, technical and physical abilities as these all an essential part of an actors "toolkit".

Once the students have an understanding of the core techniques needed to act, they then focus on applying these skills/techniques on camera exercises, screen shoots and scene work in an attempt to develop their acting abilities.

As an actors body is deemed as their only instrument, students will learn how to tune their body, so as to be able to perform expertly where and when needed. In addition, the student will be asked to focus on their ability to relax and be tense when needed. The course will also focus on breaking down the students inhibitions and building their confidence and spirit.

As many believe that acting benefits far better from working with a live audience - the students schedule all lead up to a performance in front of a live audience.
