To Win At Golf You Need To Know How To Putt With Great Finesse

Author: Tim Gorman

In the game of golf, there are many aspects to practice and potentially master. One of the largest aspects of the golf game is putting. Many golfers concentrate on the long ball part of golf, and although it can help greatly, puttingcan significantly lower your handicap. A great golfer can not only drive the ball 300 hundred yards, but he can also sink a putt with great finesse.

A putters performance will be a reflection of your body type and swing. If you have a putter that does not compliment your style, not your outfit, in some way, then you will be severely disadvantaged. This adds that extra something to golf, because if everyone had the same equipment and body type all sports everywhere would be dull. With all the different styles, there is different equipment. Whatever the type of putter, be sure to make sure it is a softer metal than most. This will allow more distance control, along with a better feel. The length of the putter is a big deal also. A club that is too short, or too long, can impact your view of the putting line. For this reason alone, many find that buying a personalizedputter counter-acts that. A personal putter is exactly that, is is designed to match you personally, right down to the grip. The lengths and such will be to your body and swing, but all other material and parts is up to you. A golfer would buy a putter and really would believe it is perfect for him, although it may have been a decent fit, a personalized club would have been truly better and would have shown better results.

When choosing a putter, you have to know what type of putter you want to get. There are 5 types to choose from, and they are blades, perimeter weighted, mallets, offset, and insert. The blades type is flat and narrow, and usually used by golfers with a low handicap. Perimeter weighted putters are quite forgiving in that the weight is spread throughout the edges, which gives a larger sweet spot. The mallets have large rounded heads and the weight is balanced throughout the club. Offset putters have the putter blade placed slightly back from the shaft. That in turn gives the golfer the ability to have his eyes directly atop the ball, which increases top spin. Finally, inserted designed clubs are made of much softer material, this gives the ball a smoother role.

With the right combination of parts and skills, you can putt your way to victory. Although putting is important, you can not forget about the other areas of golf. Putting alone will not win the match for you, but it will help out a great deal.
