Najee My Point Of View Smooth Jazz CD Review

Author: Clyde Dennis

The exceptionally talented Smooth Jazz Artist Najee has released his latest CD entitled My Point Of View. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Najee fans, and smooth jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of My Point Of View Najee's artistic excellence is on full display as he has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be his best work to date.

As it is part of the work that I do, I purchase music on line by first listening to all of the tracks on a CD to decide which one's I want to download. As I listened to this CD the list of tracks that I wanted grew and grew until it included all of them, so I ended up downloading all ten tracks on the CD.

The CD launches with a great track, Sidewayz, that will definitely be heard on smooth jazz radio stations everywhere, and deservedly so. From there Najee proceeds to display why he is considered one the greatest smooth jazz artists of our time as he mixes his signature, funky style throughout the CD.

On track 2, 3 AM, Najee teams up with Will Downing to deliver a simply outstandingly smooth cut. In fact that is how I would describe this entire CD, "outstandingly smooth". Which is of course exactly what smooth jazz is all about.

Overall My Point Of View is an outstanding release. What I call, must have music. I give it two thumbs up. Even the casual smooth jazz fan will appreciate and enjoy Najee's very nice mix of smooth and funky style.

Even with all the new sax players that have come onto the smooth jazz scene since Najee's albums were routinely selling gold, it seems a pretty good bet to me that My Point Of View will once again bring Najee to the forefront of the smooth jazz category.

The standout tunes are 3 AM [track 2], Back In The Day [track 4], and 2nd 2 None [track 7]. My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 10, Miyuki. Very nice!
