Set aside a couple of hours to just be on your own with your thoughts Firstly evaluate your life so far note your successes indulge yourself and really re-experience those successes Note what you did to achieve those successes you will start to notice themes and patterns emerging what is your personal strategy for success? Now make a note of your disappointments what goals have you set, what dreams have you had which you havent yet achieved or realised? Dare to dream about the future life you really want to experience remove any self imposed limitations in your thinking, just for now, and truly go for what you want. Write out your goals in all areas of your life for the next 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 3 years, 5 years and 10 years career/business; personal development, financial and material success; family; intimate relationships; health and fitness; spiritual development and anything else which is important to you. Goal setting is most effective if you write them down and if you adhere to the following basic rules for goal setting success ensure that they are SMART ie Specific - make your goals very detailed and specific. Measured how will you know when you have achieved your goal. What specifically will you see here and fee when you have achieved it? As if now write each goal as if you already have it right now. See what you would see, hear what you would hear, feel what you would feel Realistic dare to dream and still be realistic about the things you can achieve in the time scales you set for yourself; challenge yourself! Timed set a specific date (and, if important, time) for achieving your goals Imagine having everything you dream of what would you see, feel and hear if you had it all already right now? What obstacles are in the way of you achieving your dreams right now? Make a note of any specific skills you may need to acquire and plan how and when you will acquire them; Write down your self imposed restrictions in terms of your limiting beliefs about what you can have in your life. Ask yourself, are those limiting beliefs really serving me in realising my full potential? If not, then its time to get rid of them! |
