End The Fear Of Flying!

Author: Nick Arrizza, M.D.

It has been my experience helping individuals take charge of their lives over the last 25 years that when it comes to the fear of flying there are three sub groups that individuals fall into.

They are as follows:

1. Those individuals who have had a traumatic incident involving flying.

2. Those individuals who have had a traumatic incident that is related to and preceded a traumatic incident involving flying.

3. Those who have never had a traumatic incident involving flying but flying somehow metaphorically relates to some other trauma or emotional difficulty they are having in their lives.

In the second case the flying phobia is thematically related to the preceding incident. A "theme" might for instance be about making one's self completely dependent on someone else, or perhaps about being confined in a closed space with no way to freedom etc.

In the third case the same thematic representation may be present. Additionally there may also be an issue of what therapists call "secondary gain". Secondary gain refers to some "benefit" that the individual unconsciously believes they are getting from not flying.

An example might be that that individual is afraid of being alone and hence will unconsciously use the flying fear as a way of avoiding say flying for business purposes.

In all cases the fear is related to some underlying negative belief such as: they will be hurt or at worst be killed if they fly.

Such a belief can be a tenacious one to release especially if the individual has been maimed or severely traumatized in some way in the past.

Although many therapies employ behavior modification to get someone back on a plane this can often re-traumatize an individual by exposing them to high levels of anxiety.

Interestingly many therapists believe that such an approach is supposed to desensitize individuals to their fear. In my view it does exactly the opposite.

There is a new way of helping an individual quickly, painlessly and easily release this and other deeply entrenched fears from ones mind and body.

The result will feel to the individual "as if" they never had the problem in the first place.

This process not only can make one more functional in this way it can also build great emotional resilience and self confidence in other areas of life as well.

This process is called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP).
